PLAN, AND THEN TAKE, BABY STEPS TOWARD YOUR DREAM
*This activity is about planning what baby steps you can immediately start taking in the direction of your dreams. Things you can now physically do about making your dreams come true.
In your journal or on a sheet of paper, write a dream at the top of the page. Then write down at least 7 concrete, baby steps that you can start taking in the days and weeks ahead to move towards it. Some of your steps may be very ordinary, some very creative and unusual. Just so you take the steps is what matters! Ask yourself: What else can I try? Where else can I go? What else can I do? Use additional sheets of paper, or journal pages, as necessary. Plan, and then take, some baby steps for all of your dreams and priorities, and never, ever stop.*
I didn't spend a lot of time on this one. Not because I didn't feel it deserved it, but because I've been doing this every day, week, month, quarter since I got my Ritual for Living Dreambook.
It made me plot out my dreams for One Year Out, Three Years Out, Five Years Out, Ten Years Out, and My Lifetime. Then you took three from each and broke them down into small steps. Then you took at the very least three of the One Year Out answers and planned them into the year. You plan what needs to happen for each quarter, and then month, for what you can get done slowly chipping it away.
Which means a lot of my new goals are already in the works. Like getting myself signed up for 5k and scheduling my travel for Spring Break. Like getting to the gym tonight and discussing my year long goal (to lift twice my own body weight) and how I should amend my diet to service this big shift toward weight lifting that is nearly a year in now.
