It's so crazy to realize my journal is fourteen years old this year (fifteen next month), and that this survey is now ringing in a full flush decade of me doing this at the end of each year. I feel kind of amazed, all over! So here we go, the end of a decade of this. (Look for the Media Consumed Master Post and Top 10's of every genre to come later tonight!)

End of Year Survey

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear
the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
let it go,
let it roll right off your shoulder
don't you know
the hardest part is over
let it in,
let your clarity define you
in the end
we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain
Iím scared today, more than I told you I was yesterday
Give me a moment to catch my breath
And hold me every second left

Proud of me, thatís the only way I want you to be
Look at me and love what you see
I wonít make it alone, I need something to hold

Kiss me on my shoulder, and tell me itís not over
I promise to always come home to you
Remind me that Iím older to be brave, smart, sweet, and bolder
And donít give up on what weíre trying to do
Donít count the miles, count the ìI love you"s
Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it's an ache I still remember

You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end, always the end

You can be amazing
You can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug
You can be the outcast
Or be the backlash of somebodyís lack of love
Or you can start speaking up
Nothingís gonna hurt you the way that words do
When they settle ëneath your skin
Kept on the inside and no sunlight
Sometimes a shadow wins
But I wonder what would happen if you

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

So you can keep me
Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans
Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone

End of The Year Writing Round-Up

Favorite(s) of the batch:
I am super hardcore on this one being Bénéficiaire this year. I had so much fun delving into the world of The Night Circus book, computer/internet game, and roleplaying book rules. I had so much fun making it appear just like the book.
Best of the batch:
I'm going to have to go with a toss up between 12 Days of Jersey III/12 Days of Jersey IV, my Yuletide, and like the meta's for Season 5 Extra: SEAL Teams & SEALs/The Thing About Charlie Edwards.
Most under appreciated by the universe:
....nothing, really?
Most fun to write:
Oh. Jeez. See this is hard, because so many of them are so fun. 12 Days of Jersey III/12 Days of Jersey IV is always a blast and I always look forward to writing it with Laura. But. Guys. Yuletide 2015 totally blew out the floor on getting to rock a new, deeply beloved, canon.
Sexiest fic:
You know I don't think I really have one of those entirely this year. There's one or two references in 12 Days of Jersey for sex, but they don't really
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you" fic:
There really isn't one of these this year at all. I didn't write a lot this year, but I wrote pretty normal stuff, in all manner of topics but nothing too weird or dark or out there this year.
Fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
I don't really think changed at all.
Hardest fic to write:
Uh. None? This was a pretty awesome year for writing not I didn't like or find hard. I could list my Yuletide, due to the amount of research, but I didn't find the writing of it hard in the slightest though.
Biggest disappointment:
Nothing, thankfully!
Biggest surprise:
Echoing last year, this still has to be 12 Days of Jersey the first round, that ran through January 5th of the beginning of the year, because it was just an idea that hit me from left field. I never expected it to take off so fast, get so high hit wise, or have so many people commenting and loving it on A03 and Tumblr. This one this Christmas wasn't so surprising, but I never stopped being in awe of who, how many, omg squeezing adorable people last year.
Most telling fic:
Definitely my Yuletide 2015. This one was gorgeous, getting inside so very many different characters of the story I had so loved. Getting into each of their heads, as the story had happened and where it went from there.
What's next?
I don't know. I've definitely been asking myself that while working on this questionnaire this year, but honestly I'm very dedicated to getting back into writing in my journal more than writing fic this year. I would not mind having a deep love and creation of both if it can happen.

None this year, due to not using my journal enough, but I am hoping to turn that around this year.
